Learning, redefined.

Somewhere along the way, learning got reduced to grades and test scores. However, learning is not academic.

Learning is the core part of being human: the lifelong, effortful practice of becoming more capable, curious, and awake to the world.

I work with college-bound and first-year students to build a personal system that improves the skill of learning itself. Better grades will follow, but what they’re really building is a way of growing that they’ll use for the rest of their lives.

  • Rising college students: start strong with a real learning system instead of figuring it out the hard way.

  • First-year "comeback" students: reset after a rough semester and rebuild momentum and confidence.

  • Parents: make your investment in college pay off in capability, not just a transcript.

This is a learning development resource. It is not tutoring, admissions consulting, or therapy.

About me

I've spent over a decade working with college students: teaching, advising, and designing learning support systems.

I received a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2017 and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in 2022, both from New York University.

Currently, I am an Assistant Dean of Academic Support at New York University’s College of Arts and Science, where I’ve taught multiple undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Prose and Poetry,How to Learn, and Critical Analysis.

In addition to being an educator, I am a writer. My previous publication history is a short story that is featured in the anthology, Regarding Ingres: Fourteen Short Stories, published by Rizzoli Electa and includes an introduction by best selling author, Darin Strauss.

I find purpose in helping students change their relationship with cognitive effort and struggle. My approach is grounded in learning science and a simple belief: learning is the practice of Becoming. Becoming more capable, aware, and alive. When we value the process of learning I believe our capacity for love deepens, our creativity flourishes, our ability to make meaning broadens. I help students turn all of that into a system that will prime them for a successful life.
